Sunderland v West Brom – Match Preview and Prices

Black Cats boss Steve Bruce will be desperate to turn around the awful run of form his Sunderland side have been in since the start of the year. The 5-0 defeat at Manchester City last weekend was a cause for concern as Sunderland are still not entirely safe from relegation from the Premier League.

Bruce will not have welcomed the visit of an in-form West Brom side under new manager Roy Hodgson. The 2-1 victory over his old side Liverpool may have been fortunate but the Baggies are now undefeated in 8 games and are 4th in the form guide.

Sunderland could welcome back Kieran Richardson, who helped the Baggies stay up in the 2004/05 season but Fraizer Campbell and Titus Bramble look to be ruled out.

West Brom have Graham Dorrans missing but will look to field the similar side to the one that beat Sunderland 1-0 at the Hawthorns this season.

The Baggies are now 13th in the table and 4 points off the relegation zone. A win over Sunderland this Saturday would see move to 39 points and go a point above their opponents, which is remarkable considering where both teams were at the start of the year.

However, Sunderland’s poor form has to end somewhere and it could be a scrappy game at the Stadium of Light, but with West Brom in such good form and Sunderland coming off a huge defeat, there’s surely only one outcome here?

Match Prediction: Sunderland 1-3 West Brom

West Brom are 28/1 to beat Sunderland 3-1 at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Saturday!
