Swansea have entered the race to sign Tottenham midfielder Andros Townsend, Mirror Sport have revealed.
Tim Sherwood and Aston Villa had declared their interest in the 23-year-old England winger and now Garry Monk is ready to declare his.
Sherwood, who managed Townsend during his time at Spurs’ is a keen believer in the promotion of young English talent, sees him as a player capable of making a big contribution at Villa Park next term.
However, after Swansea’s record breaking season Monk is keen to improve the Welsh outfit even further this summer.
Townsend still has three years left on his Tottenham contract and wants to fight for his place at White Hart Lane, but over the last season he has experienced very limited game time and may have to seek pastures new.
The winger is very aware that if he is to go to France with England at Euro 2016 he needs to start playing regular football.
