Someone will get fleeced

As the constraints of the transfer window put clubs’ backs against the wall and the ever inflating premium on players’ heads continues to increase, it’s an absolute banker that someone is going to get fleeced on deadline day.

While it’s unlikely we’re going to see any deals touch Andy Carroll-status tomorrow evening, there are still a few irons in the fire for those craving a bit of financial bloodshed.

Harry Redknapp’s desperation to bring in another forward could see the 32-year-old Peter Crouch do some serious damage to Tony Fernandes’ already maligned bank balance and the current bidding war for Blackpool’s Tom Ince could see someone part with over the odds for the a talented, yet unproven prospect at the top level.
