As we enter the month of November, small (and big) kids are turning their attention to the impending visit of Santa Claus while football fans are eagerly anticipating the hectic festive fixture schedule and the reopening of the transfer window.

The Premier League may only be nine weeks old but we’ve already seen enough to predict that this season could be the best incarnation yet. Giants look like falling, surprise packages continue to unravel and West Ham look more likely to finish in the top six rather than the bottom three.

However, as everyone continues to look forward, I thought I would execute a 180 and analyse the lessons we’ve been able to ascertain so far.
