The Premier League has been nothing short of fantastic so far this season and last weekend certainly didn't let itself down in that regard.Four 3pms kicked off the action on Saturday, whilst Chelsea completed the afternoon with a resounding 5-0 win over Everton - which many are hailing as one of the most dominant Premier League displays of all time.Sunday, meanwhile, began with the north London derby at the Emirates Stadium, a hard-fought 1-1 draw, and continued as Liverpool and Manchester United produced convincing victories over Watford and Swansea City respectively.Overall, there were 37 goals scored, just three draws and one red card - picked up by Steven Pienaar en route to Sunderland's first league win of the season. The footballing world has gone statistics mad over the last few years and we're no different. So here's a look back at the Premier League's weekend action with a rundown of the most unusual numerical gems to emerge from it...

Southampton's struggles

Southampton have enjoyed a decent enough start to the season, currently lying in 10th place, but this statistic suggests a worrying flaw - throwing away points from winning positions. They were firmly in control against Hull City on Saturday until a Robert Snodgrass goal turned the tie in an eventual 2-1 defeat for the Saints.

Bogey Boro

Manchester City may now see themselves as a European powerhouse but they still can't produce the goods against Middlesbrough, who claimed a last-minute point against them on Saturday. In fact, Boro have recorded more points against the Citizens than any other Premier League side - a staggering 39.

Perfect Pochettino

Tottenham may have been forced to settle for a point against Arsenal on Sunday but Mauricio Pochettino's record against the Gunners is incredibly impressive, becoming the first Spurs boss not to lose his first five Premier League north London derbies. The record is symptomatic of Spurs establishing themselves as one of the English top flight's big dogs since the Argentine arrived from Southampton.

Liverpool domination

Chelsea produced one of the most convincing displays in recent Premier League memory against Everton in Saturday's late kick-off but not to be outdone by their potential title rivals, Liverpool upped the ante 24 hours later with a 6-1 win over Watford - recording the most shots on target in a single game since Opta records began.

Gylfi vs United

Swansea enjoy a strong record against the Red Devils, winning four of their last six encounters, and talismanic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has been at the heart of the action. He added to his impressive haul with an assist for Mike van der Hoorn on Sunday.

Jermain Joins

Jermain Defoe's pedigree remains undoubted and has now been rewarded by him joining an exclusive Premier League club, scoring in excess of 25 goals for three different top flight sides. Only four other players have managed the same feat.

NLD: Goals Galore

A 1-1 draw on Sunday made Arsenal vs Tottenham the highest scoring fixture in the Premier League history, notching up 139 goals. Entertaining stuff, and the latest instalment certainly didn't let the north London rivals down in that regard, with fine football played at a relentless pace.

Rooney Milestone

For all the flack Wayne Rooney's suffered this season, the Manchester United skipper continues to etch his name in the Premier League's history books. He grabbed two set-ups against Swansea, making him just the third player to reach 100 assists in the Premier League.

Payet FC

Despite West Ham's struggles this season, Dimitri Payet's managed to maintain his performance levels, notching up seven created chances against Stoke City. In fact, no Premier League player has made more potential set-ups than the French midfielder this season. Courtesy of Squawka.

Improved Pogba

Paul Pogba's received plenty of stick since his record-breaking move to Manchester United during the summer but the Frenchman bagged his second Premier League goal against Swansea on Sunday and was a pivotal influence on the ball, completing a whopping 94 passes.

Southgate selection

Many were surprised to see Gareth Southgate recall Jack Wilshere and the stats suggest England's interim gaffer's got this one horribly wrong. The Arsenal loanee has hardly excelled since moving to Bournemouth during the summer.

Zlatan's exclusive club

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's strike against Swansea saw the Premier League break the 25,000 goals mark, putting the Sweden international on a rather exclusive list.
