This one is going south very quickly. The Arsene Wenger apologists have been quick to come to his rescue, attempting to outline the absurdity at the manager not having a plan for this summer. Well there’s history. He didn’t have a plan during that mad dash around the aisles in 2011. Some players paid off, some were horrendous mistakes. So let’s not dismiss the idea of that happening again.
The problem at this stage is that many of the good players who could have made a difference at Arsenal have either been sold or are off the market. There is pressure to buy, but finding a player who is of top, top quality and who is also available for around £4million is a little hard in the current climate. You either get one or the other.
Here’s hoping that this summer of promise doesn’t turn into an embarrassing repeat of two years ago.
