It all seemed so familiar. The broken promise, the failed bids, and of course the French youngster from Ligue 2 who nobody has heard of.
Arsenal‘s transfer policy in a nutshell. Up until September of this year, it looked to all like Wenger would once again have failed to entice a big name signing to The Emirates, and the moans and groans of fans would once again be deafening. However, by some sort of masterstroke, the French manager took advantage of Bale joining Real Madrid and brought German star Mesut Ozil to the Premier League.
Transfer record smashed, and Arsenal fans now happy, it seems nothing can stop the Gunners, who are currently sitting top of the table, but Liverpool have the chance to reclaim that position by getting a point away at Swansea this evening.
However, by any stretch, this has been a great start for Arsenal, but plans are already afoot for future signings that could be made.
A striker was promised, but has not become a reality, so with that in mind…
