What a result at the Emirates Stadium, well, if you're a Middlesbrough fan at least.

Arsenal and Boro played out a 0-0 draw this afternoon as both sides saw good chances turned away by goalkeepers Petr Cech and Victor Valdes respectively.

Arguably, the Teeside club deserved to at least take the lead in the game with a number of great chances in the first-half, especially from a cross-bar hitting fee-kick from Gaston Ramirez, as Aitor Karanka's men showed no fear in their more illustrious company.

After the Gunners had won 6-0 in the week against Ludogorets Razgrad and came into the match on a six-game Premier League winning streak, so many expected another walk in the park against a Middlesbrough team that were starting to flounder in the division this season.

As it turned out, though, Boro were good value for their point leaving Arsene Wenger unhappy on his 67th Birthday. Here are THREE things we learned from it all...

Sanchez up top cannot be permanent

Alexis Sanchez

Being a world class player, Alexis Sanchez is obviously going to do well up front at times, but, as today showed, he can't be used as Arsenal's main striker for the long term future. The Chilean has been in fine form but got no luck down the middle against a stubborn Boro back line and whilst all players have bad days at the office, this seemed down to his position more than anything else.

Away form key for Boro

The Teeside club's form at home as been poor so far this season and they're yet to win on their own turf so their away form needs to keep going. They've lost just once on their travels so far this season, against Everton, and that is what is keeping them afloat right now. Surely then, if they can address their performances in front of their fans they'll stay up this season.

Victor Valdes has still got it

The former Barcelona and Manchester United 'keeper has been on the end of criticism throughout his career for not being good enough to play for those sides but today he proved just what a good stopper he can be. A collection of fine saves kept his new side in the game as he and opposite number Petr Cech put on real displays today. Valdes will be key to any survival hopes Boro harbour.
