As always, the Man City gaffer opted for two strikers with Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic leading the line. However, at half-time Pellegrini hauled off Stevan Jovetic and brought on Samir Nasri which saw a formational change. The lack of faith shown in Edin Dzeko to replace Jovetic highlights their shortcomings to partner the Argentine international.
@Etihad_Stadium we need a striker to play with aguero, Dzeko and jovetic not good enough, toure only getting older. Apart from nevas 0 pace

@YucciMane I dont understand why he sold Negredo.Jovetic has proved nothing,Dzeko has one good run every season,Aguero is injury prone

Not seen much of this Jovetic at City but he has looked rubbish every time I have seen him – is he any better than Guidetti?

The Premier League champions lost their heads at the Etihad tonight, finishing the game with nine men after Yaya Toure and Fernandinho were shown red cards. In truth, City could’ve – and probably should’ve – lost Samir Nasri, too.
Not often I tweet about other teams but Man City a disgrace tonight. Discipline went tonight. #wba

Had an earful from Man City fans last season about Suarez the cheat, how he dives and bad discipline. Think it’ll be a quiet one tonight. — Jit Singh LFC (@Jit6181) November 5, 2014
Complete lack of discipline from Man City tonight they can’t get going In this tourney at all really poor considering the squad they have,

This isn’t really one just for City, however, following Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City’s struggles this week – with Liverpool the only side to face a side they weren’t expected to beat – questions have to be raised over whether the Premier League is the best league in the world?!
These nobody teams basically showing the premier league aint all its cracked up to be — Chris Vincent (@vinaldo7) November 5, 2014
