Large footballers get a fair bit of stick don’t they just? Ungainly, lumbering and awkward are just some of the words commonly used to describe such identities. Even the word ‘freak’ has been unfairly bellowed by ignorant fans in the direction of former Tottenham Hotspur ace Peter Crouch who has endured a good season at best for Stoke City – and even that description is being generous.
Another tall ace – this time currently belonging to Tottenham – in the form of Emmanuel Adebayor is another example of a player whose season has simply passed him by leading to disllusioned fans and an even less confident Togolese international.
It is a common fact that when a large footballer is having a bad game, they quite simply stick out like a sore thumb given their sheer dimensions and in this countdown it certainly wasn’t too difficult singling out a few footballers whom have proven passengers in their team’s 2012/13 Premier League campaign.
Either refraining from utilising their supposed superior aerial ability efficiently, failing to link up the play with a strike partner or simply possessing a god damn awful first touch, these following 10 footballers haven’t covered themselves in glory and find themselves named and shamed in our countdown.
