Both Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have made contact with Dinamo Zagreb in an attempt to lure gifted Croatian playmaker Ante Coric away from his homeland, according to Sky Sports.
The 19-year-old has put in some stunning performances for his boyhood club since breaking into the first team in 2014 and has an excellent record of scoring goals from midfield.
Coric’s superb form domestically has seen him called up to the Croatian national squad, but the likes of Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic and Mateo Kovacic stand in his way of making the starting XI.
Despite this, the teenager is being tipped to follow in the footsteps of his illustrious compatriots and become a household name in the European game.
Spurs will be confident of landing Coric after signing Modric from Dinamo back in 2008, while Everton have money to spend following the appointment of Ronald Koeman.
A wealth of other European clubs are said to be monitoring the midfielder’s situation and as such a tussle for his services is expected before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
