According to reports in French publication L’Equipe, via Football365, Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery has told attacker Julian Draxler, who is rated at £31.5m according to Transfermarkt, that he is no longer part of his plans.
The 23-year-old forward only moved to the Parc des Princes from Wolfsburg during the January transfer window, but despite scoring 10 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions, Football365 says the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona means the Germany international is now surplus to requirements.
Meanwhile, Totteham Hotspur are yet to make a signing this summer and look set to once again conduct their business late on in the window, and they may well choose to take an interest in Draxler if they want to strengthen their attacking options.
Tottenham supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour via social media, and they have urged the board to sign the German forward, with some believing that he could be a “bargain” if they can get him for around £35m.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
