Make no mistake about it, Tottenham Hotspur’s win over Manchester United on Monday night was a historic occasion for the north London club. Not only was it just the third time they’ve claimed a Premier League victory at Old Trafford, but it was also the first time they’ve managed to do so while keeping a clean sheet.
Much has been made of the home side’s part in that, and particularly Jose Mourinho’s. But Tottenham’s performance shouldn’t be overlooked and while both sides started off nervously, the visitors managed to grow into the match whereas the hosts seemed to wilt under the pressure.
One player Spurs fans weren’t particularly impressed with, however, is Danny Rose. The England international barely featured for Tottenham last season amid doubts over his future so his inclusion in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XI on Monday night came as some surprise.
And it certainly wasn’t a stellar night for the left-back, who Transfermarkt value at £27million. He completed just 39% of his passes and nearly gifted Romelu Lukaku a goal when he inadvertently played the Belgium international through in the penalty area.
Accordingly, when we asked Tottenham fans to issue player ratings for each of those involved in the win at Old Trafford, Rose picked up the lowest score of any Spurs player including the three substitutes – just 5.6 out of ten. You can check out the results in full below…
