Arsenal may not have been genuine Premier League title contenders for a while, but they have had trophy success in the FA Cup.
Arsene Wenger’s men have lifted the trophy three times in the last four years, but they will not be adding another to their cabinet this season.
The Gunners were ousted of the tournament on Sunday in the third round by Championship club Nottingham Forest.
The manager made a handful of changes to the team, and they were unable to get the job done as Forest ran out 4-2 winners in an entertaining encounter.
Arsenal fans, understandably, would have been very disappointed by the shock exit, but one set of rival supporters certainly enjoyed.
Tottenham Hotspur’s following watched with glee as the holders were knocked out in their opening FA Cup match of the season.
What made it that much sweeter for the fans was that on the same day, Mauricio Pochettino’s men secured their progression to the fourth round with a 3-0 triumph over AFC Wimbledon.
Once Arsenal’s game was over, it did not take long for Tottenham supporters to rub salt into the wound.
