Tottenham Hotspur have joined Arsenal in the race to sign West Ham centre-back Winston Reid at the end of the season, Daily Mail reports.
The New Zealand international will be out of a contract with the Hammers in the summer, and will be free to leave with Tottenham and the Gunners keen on his services.
But now it seems that Spurs have taken a big step forward in capturing Reid’s signature, with the Lilywhites willing pay his desired £60,000-a-week salary.
This will come as a big blow to Arsenal, who have been linked with the 26-year-old numerous times over the past year.
The likes of Everton were also interested in Reid, but the defender is more likely to take a step up and play for a top six club.
Reid has made played over 100 games since his move from Danish side Midtyjyllad in 2010, scoring six goals for the Upton Park club.
