Tottenham target Adam Smith’s Premier League campaign in numbers

Kyle Walker’s future at White Hart Lane has been the subject of much discussion in recent weeks, with The Independent claiming the England international wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in taking him off the club’s hands.

Mauricio Pochettino already boasts a ready-made replacement in Kieran Trippier who has impressed as Walker’s understudy since arriving from Burnley two summers ago. But considering how much physical demand is placed on the full-backs in Pochettino’s philosophy, Trippier will have to share the burden with someone else.

Mirror Football have hinted Bournemouth’s Adam Smith could well be brought in to provide that depth, with Pochettino reportedly a fan of the Cherries defender – who was actually on the books at Tottenham before moving to the Vitality Stadium in summer 2014.

And the numbers suggest Smith would be a natural fit for the attacking right-back role in Spurs’ current setup, producing impressive returns this season for assists, chances created and successful dribbles whilst putting in a shift defensively as well.

Transfermarkt value the 26-year-old at just £2.13million. So, Spurs fans, should Smith come in to fill Walker’s void? Let us know by voting below…
