Harry Redknapp voiced his surprise at the boos directed at his Tottenham players in the wake of their disappointing 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Tuesday night.

In truth a Tottenham side with one of the strongest squads in the division at the moment will have been disappointed with their recent showing in the league, particularly after their collection of extraordinary European nights so far this season.

Gareth Bale will want to show even a glimpse of the form that allowed him to terrorise Inter Milan earlier this month. However, he is likely to be afforded little space to work as Sam Allardyce will have captain Chris Samba surgically attached to the young Welshman.

Blackburn may be tempted to offer Jason Roberts a first start of the season, and with Tottenham lacking their European cohesion, Harry and his boys could be in for a few more boos.
