Old Trafford will be the scene for a meeting of two of the 'Big Six' that have been more like sleeping giants in 2019/2020 so far this Wednesday evening, as part of a groundbreaking Premier League midweek matchday that will see ten games shown live and exclusive on Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United play host to Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur in what promises to be an intriguing encounter that could easily go either way.

The hosts are treading water at the moment after consecutive draws against Sheffield United and Newcastle United, with UEFA Europa League defeat to Astana sandwiched in between.

The United hierarchy are sticking by Solskjaer but one would certainly feel that he has to start winning more frequently if the boardroom patience is to be retained for much longer.

Meanwhile, a managerial change appears to have made all the difference for Spurs as they've won everything emphatically since Mourinho, who will return to his former club for this clash, replaced Mauricio Pochettino.

They're now knocking on the door of the top four despite being just two points in front of the side they will travel to face in this 7:30pm kick-off.

The Lilywhites make the 199-mile trip with no fresh injury concerns and the same winning starting Xl from the AFC Bournemouth game could well be kept.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, could be given a lift by the returns of Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic from injury, although this match will come too soon for Paul Pogba.

Historically, this fixture has been a tale of Man United dominance as they've beaten Tottenham on 91 occasions - the opposite result has been recorded 52 times and there have been 48 draws.

This offers little clue as to what the result might be, however, with an even split of victories in the last eight meetings.
