Everything Harry Kane touches at the moment seems to turn to gold, but the Tottenham Hotspur star could miss out on winning the Premier League Golden Boot, according to former West Ham United striker Tony Cottee.

Kane has finished as the division's top scorer for the past two seasons, despite the fact that his club missed out on winning the title.

As it stands, the England international, who was Europe's highest goalscorer (56) for club and country in 2017, is leading the way in the race for the Golden Boot.

After nabbing the winner against North London rivals Arsenal at the weekend, Kane brought his tally up to 23.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is just one goal behind his rival on 22, while Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has 21 to his name following last weekend's 5-1 triumph over Leicester City.

The majority of talk has been about Kane and Salah vying for top spot, but ex-West Ham forward Cottee thinks that Aguero could sneak in.

The pundit told Sky Sports:

"I think Harry Kane is going to go very close but if Aguero stays fit, playing in that Man City team, they're going to make lots of chances. I don't think Mo Salah will win the Golden Boot. He's having a fantastic season scoring goals but I do think it'll be between Kane and Aguero, possibly Aguero if he stays fit."
