Under pressure Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has hinted that the chairman’s late transfer activity could be the reason behind his poor start to the season according to the Daily Mirror.
Spurs have just two points from their opening three games as they travel to newly promoted Reading today in a must win game for the club.
Villas-Boas has received a mixed reception so far in his time at White Hart Lane but he feels that Daniel Levy’s Deadline Day rush for players such as Clint Dempsey and Hugo Lloris has not helped his squad during the opening three games of the season.
“The market is difficult and expensive,” Villas-Boas said.
“It’s a pity we concluded four deals almost during the season, so, in effect, not preparing in a proper way.”
