Tottenham Hotspur remain confident of signing Manchester United star Anthony Martial, according to The Telegraph.
The 22-year-old joined the Red Devils on the final day of the transfer window in 2015 and has gone on to score 24 Premier League goals in 86 games.
The talented Frenchman has been in and out of Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up and he has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Chelsea and Tottenham interested, despite Manchester United’s apparent reluctance to sell him to a rival.
According to the latest report, Spurs remain confident that they can persuade Mourinho to part with the star player this summer, particularly if Toby Alderweireld heads in the opposite direction.
Martial seems very much in Mauricio Pochettino’s mould as a pacy and direct runner that would fit perfectly in his counter attacking style.
He would provide strong competition for Son Heung-Min and help ease Harry Kane’s goal burden, adding even more potency to the already strong Spurs attack with his excellent link-up play and darting runs.
If they can agree a swap deal for Alderweireld, who didn’t even feature much last season due to injury, then it could be a great deal for Pochettino.
