Arsenal fans destroy Mohamed Elneny after first-half performance vs Tottenham

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny started alongside Granit Xhaka in midfield in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Saturday, but Gunners fans were quick to destroy him for his performance in the opening 45 minutes.

The Egypt international came into the team after Aaron Ramsey had been ruled out with a groin injury, but he struggled at times with Xhaka and Jack Wilshere in the middle of the park and even had some choice words for goalkeeper Petr Cech about his distribution.

Nevertheless, Arsene Wenger’s men went into the break with the scoreline goalless, and the fans will be hoping for an improved display from the 25-year-old in the second half.

Arsenal supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on Elneny’s display, and while one said ‘it’s like playing with 10 men’, another said “he’s doing nothing!!!”

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
