Belgian star favours Tottenham move

FC Twente's Nacer ChadliNacer Chadli is pining for a move from FC Twente to Tottenham, having already knocked back offers from Swansea and Shakhtar Donestk, reports the Metro.

The Belgian winger is reportedly a prime target for Spurs and he is believed to be keen on linking up with fellow countrymen Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele.

Twente are looking for around £7million for the exciting 23-year-old, who has one year remaining on his current contract.

He has so far not played a part in the Dutch club’s pre-season matches and chairman Joop Munsterman has expressed hope that the player’s situation can be resolved soon.

“We have to be careful with him,” Munsterman said.

“We hear a lot about Tottenham but the club will have to put up a concrete offer first. So far only Swansea and Shakhtar have made concrete offers and are still options, even though Nacer decided not to go to them.

“We hope for some clarity this week.”

Chadli is of Moroccan descent and played a non-competitive game for the African country in 2010, however he has since earned 14 caps for Belgium.

For Twente, who he joined in 2010 from Dutch second division side AGOVV Apeldoorn, Chadli has appeared 123 times and scored 40 goals.
