Whilst Tottenham Hotspur’s 2019/20 campaign has started in a state of inconsistency, manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that October’s international break provides a platform for his side to return with renewed energy and optimism ahead of a crucial run of domestic and European fixtures.
As the Argentinian prepares to welcome back his Spurs side to north London, a number of his squad have been delivering impressive performances with their respective national sides, including Wales’ Ben Davies.
Davies, 26, started for Ryan Giggs’ side in their 1-1 draw with Croatia on Sunday night, and he provided an assist for Gareth Bale’s equaliser at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Pochettino will be hoping Davies can return to the club and emulate that level of performance as he bids to ensure Spurs’ season does not enter the realms of disarray.
The Welshman’s performance in the draw with 2018’s World Cup finalists has been highlighted by the club ahead of their return to Premier League action against Watford on October 19th.
