Brighton and Newcastle battle: Spurs accept seven-figure transfer bid

According to reports from Sky Sports, Brighton have agreed a transfer fee with Tottenham Hotspur for youngster Alex Pritchard.

The attacking midfielder boasts a prominent record in the Football League, claiming a place in the Championship’s Team of the Season for 2014/15 after bagging twelve goals on loan at Brentford.

The 23-year-old was expected to make his first-team breakthrough last season but had his campaign ruptured by injury and ended it stuck on the bench at West Brom.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has already confirmed the former England U21 isn’t part of his first-team plans for the coming campaign.

Leeds United, Newcastle United and Norwich City were all considering loan bids for Pritchard according to Mirror Football.

But Championship rivals Brighton look set to beat the aforementioned trio to the former Swindon Town star’s signature, having agreed a transfer fee with the Lilywhites.

The north Londoners are believed to have asked for an £8million package but not the whole sum paid up front. QPR could yet table a rival offer.
