According to reports in Germany, Tottenham is one of three possible destinations for incredible winger Leon Bailey this summer.

What's the story?

The report by SportBild claims Bailey is looking to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer, and Tottenham will battle Manchester United and Liverpool for his signature.

The Jamaican’s father, who is also his agent, posted an angry Instagram message after Leverkusen’s 6-2 loss to Bayern Munich last week, where the winger came off the bench to score a wonderful free kick.

Now, SportBild claim Bailey has a “clear” plan to move to a bigger club this summer, and Spurs could be front of the queue.

Perfect for Pochettino?

If there’s one position Tottenham don’t need reinforcements right now, it’s on the wings. However, Bailey is already a superior player to Erik Lamela and has the potential to be an absolute superstar under Mauricio Pochettino.

Bailey is only 20, but his electric pace, incredible skill and clinical finishing have wowed spectators in Germany this season, and the young winger is destined for bigger and better things.

Pochettino has a reputation for developing young stars, so a 20 year-old winger who has grabbed 12 goals and six assists this season could certainly flourish in North London.

The youngster averages 2.6 shots, 1.8 key passes, two dribbles and 2.2 successful crosses per game in the Bundesliga this season, and would light up the Premier League for Pochettino’s Spurs.

Tottenham may well be loaded with attacking talent right now, but if Bailey is up for grabs they would be foolish not to pursue him.
