Tottenham Hotspur target Bruno Fernandes has replied to new signing Gedson Fernandes’ Instagram post about his happiness at signing for the club.

Spurs sealed a deal to sign Gedson on Wednesday on an initial 18-month loan from Benfica; they hold the option to buy him at the end of that spell.

He subsequently took to Instagram, posting a picture of himself holding the Spurs shirt.

He wrote: “A new chapter is going to start! Thanks, @SpursOfficial for the opportunity, I’m ready.”

And a number of footballers responded with messages of goodwill for the 21-year-old.

Perhaps most intriguingly, though, is the response of Bruno.

Writing in his native Portuguese, his response translates as: “Go with everything, kid.”

Football FanCast sources have confirmed that the club are attempting to do a deal to bring the Sporting Lisbon playmaker into the club too, sending a delegation to London to meet with representatives of the Portuguese outfit.

Manchester United are also interested but Spurs are attempting to find a way to bring him to north London instead, with the possibility of sending Juan Foyth the other way floated.

The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?

Spurs would need to pay around €60m (£51.2m) to bring him in and his response may have supporters excited about the prospect of his potential arrival.

One has to wonder if the second Fernandes will be holding a Spurs shirt come the end of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, a new club have entered the race to sign a major Spurs star!
