According to a new report from the Evening Standard, Newcastle United would be ready to offer Danny Rose a way out of Tottenham Hotspur. He's fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho and hasn't even been called up for their last four games.

But if that deal were really to go through, there would be an obvious winner and an obvious loser...

The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?

Winner: Ben Davies

Needless to say, this is a pretty straightforward one to begin with. With Rose possibly on his way out of the club, that would leave Davies as the only experienced left-back the Special One would have at his disposal. Of course, the 26-year-old is currently out with an ankle injury but as soon as he gets back, he's most likely going to feature once more.

When that does happen, he will get his chance to prove himself worthy of being Spurs' first-choice left-back and show Mourinho he has what it takes to take over from Rose permanently.

Newcastle would really be doing Davies a huge favour with this reported deal. Let's see if it ends up happening.

Loser: Ryan Sessegnon

With Rose gone, Spurs would only be left with Davies as a natural option. Needless to say, Mourinho would then be missing some depth in that area and with the 26-year-old defender's injury problems in the ongoing campaign, they can't really afford to have just one player covering that specific role.

For that reason, Sessegnon could potentially end up being seen more as a back-up left-back instead of someone who operates further up the pitch, as a wide midfielder or an out-and-out winger.

This would be a real shame as 26 career goals at the age of just 19 suggests that his talents lie away from that defensive mindset. If Rose is to leave, Sessegnon could definitely suffer.
