Edwards’ debut strike for England’s U-21s

England fans in search of some football worth watching over the last week have had to look down the age ranks. While the seniors huffed and puffed to a 2-0 win over Malta and were, for the most part, outplayed in Slovenia as they drew 0-0, the Young Lions have been performing well.

The U-21s beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 5-0 while the U-20s came out on top during a slightly closer bout with the USA, and the U-19s were also on form as they beat Bulgaria 2-1.

One of the standout performances on the night came from Spurs’ Marcus Edwards, who capped his debut for the team with a goal…

The attacking midfielder is tipped for a bright future at both club and international level, with his neat skills and pace his standout traits.

His goal for the U-19s may not have been a classic, but there will certainly be more to add to the show reel over the coming years.
