Tottenham Hotspur fans continued to see a number of their players star for England during the international break, even seeing another member of their squad captain the side.

With Harry Kane sitting on the bench for the start of England's 1-0 friendly victory over Switzerland, Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate handed the captain's armband to his club colleague Eric Dier.

The 24-year-old has become a regular in the England set-up during recent seasons, earning a total of 34 caps, but many fans were not impressed by his performance at Leicester City's King Power Stadium.

In a scrappy and disappointing match, Dier struggled to catch the eye although England brought an end to their run of three consecutive defeats by sealing victory thanks to Marcus Rashford's second-half volley.

Fans were understandably disappointed with the display from the Three Lions though and the midfielders in the side attracted particular criticism, with Dier regularly selected as the man to point the finger at.
