Tottenham Hotspur pride themselves on their attacking style of play that is very easy on the eye for the spectator.

However, on Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino's men had to revert to different tactics as they won ugly against Huddersfield Town.

The North London outfit are well within the title race as they currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, four points adrift of leaders Manchester City.

Some of the performances on the pitch, though, have not been vintage Tottenham by any means, particularly on Saturday at the John Smith's Stadium.

Harry Kane nabbed both goals - one from the penalty spot - in the 2-0 victory but from top to bottom there was not much to shout about.

One player who could be in danger of losing his place is Eric Dier, who has felt the wrath of Spurs fans already this season.

The 24-year-old, who according to sillyseason.com earns £70,000 per week, had a mixed game in the middle of the park.

Defensively, the England international did a job as he cleared the danger more times than any other Tottenham midfielder and he also won five aerial battles.

However, he struggled to play the ball forward and failed to contribute a single meaningful pass over the course of the 90 minutes.

The offensive side of Dier's game needs to improve otherwise he will be in danger of getting the chop from Pochettino, who so far has started the midfielder in all but one of the club's Premier League matches.
