Tottenham Hotspur haven’t quite been able to build upon their charge for Premier League title last season but Mauricio Pochettino’s side have at least remained competitive in the race for a top-four finish, although they have a deficit to overturn.
Sat fifth for Christmas, three points behind rivals Arsenal and the same margin ahead of Manchester United, the Lilywhites need a run of form at the start of 2017 to push themselves into the Champions League spots and erase the woes of an early exit from Europe’s elite competition this term.
If they are to improve on their fortunes next year, Christian Eriksen will be crucial to Pochettino’s side and the Danish midfielder currently tops the charts in Europe’s top-five leagues for the most shots from outside the box this season.
Christian Eriksen has had 50 shots from outside the box this season, more than any other player in Europe's top 5 leagues.

With the 24-year-old having netted five Premier League goals this season, not all of which have been from outside the box, Eriksen may need to improve his conversion rate and become more of a threat when taking these attempts.
