Tottenham fans wondering how their side would cope without talisman Harry Kane against in-form Swansea need not have worried as Christian Eriksen stepped up to the mark.

The Dane scored twice to ensure that the Swans didn't even have the chance to lay a glove on Spurs as their fluid attack caused Carlos Carvalhal's side no end of problems at the Liberty Stadium.

Kane will be back before the end of the season, but in his absence, players such as Eriksen, as well as Dele Alli, Erik Lamela and Heung-Min Son will have to step up to the plate and the early signs were good.

The playmaker - valued at £63m by Transfermarkt - was given freedom to roam all over the pitch and used it to get involved in all aspects of Spurs' play.

As well as netting twice, he made six key passes and eight crosses, which meant he created no shortage of chances for his team-mates to further assert their superiority.

Five shots on target means he could well have had a hat-trick but Pochettino will also be happy with the amount of touches he had. 124 means he was at the centre of everything Spurs did and the more they can get him on the ball, the more he will be able to create.
