Euro giants considering key Spurs man ahead of summer shake-up

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has asked trusted advisors to assess a potential summer deal for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

The Argentine tactician has enjoyed a stellar season at White Hart Lane, with his side heading into tonight’s clash with West Ham knowing that a win will take them to the top of the Premier league table and leave them in pole position to win the title.

Pochettino’s work has not just been limited to results, with young players such as Harry Kane and Dele Alli having flourished under his tutelage, and reports suggest that he’s now being looked at by Real.

It’s understood that Zinedine Zidane’s future beyond this season is unclear after he stepped in to replace Rafa Benitez, and Perez is already looking at other options.

It’s understood that Pochettino is one name on his hit-list and that the Real chief has instructed his advisors to assess a potential deal for him.

However, recent reports have suggested that Perez is reluctant to enter negotiations with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, with the 2013 arrangement for Gareth Bale having tested the Spaniard’s patience.

Interestingly, it’s been claimed that Pochettino would consider leaving Tottenham for either Real or Barcelona.
