Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills has warned Tottenham Hotspur that they may come under increased scrutiny after their win against the Citizens.
Spurs have soaked up praise after a brilliant battling performance saw them win 2-0 against City and inflict the first loss of Pep Guardiola’s reign.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Football Club, Mills suggested the pressure will be on Pochettino’s men as they look to push for another title challenge:
“People are talking about them a little bit earlier this season, maybe they will come under more scrutiny.”
The suggestion could come as a worry for the White Hart Lane faithful after Spurs were in the running for the big prize for much of last season before falling away during the latter stages as Leicester City stormed to the title.
In the end, Spurs finished third behind the Foxes and bitter rivals Arsenal, but still recorded their best ever Premier League finish.
The Lilywhites are currently second in the league, just a point behind Man City, and remain the only side yet to be beaten this season.
