FA set to investigate Hammers chanting at White Hart Lane

The FA are to investigate anti-semitic chants made by West Ham fans during Tottenham’s 3-1 victory at White Hart lane on Sunday.

A positive return to form for Tottenham was overshadowed by insensitive chants from sections of the away support, in reference to the Spurs fans stabbed in Rome last week while away supporting their side in the Europa League.

“I don’t hear what the fans say or do when I’m concentrating on a game of football. They shouldn’t be doing things like that, should they? But it’s the least of my worries at the minute.” The Daily Mail quoted West Ham boss Sam Allardyce.

West Ham fans chanting “Can we stab you every week?” in response to Spurs fans playfully provoking “Can we play you every week?” were among the worst that were heard along with other anti-semitic and Hitler related insults.

FA officials are said to be waiting to digest the referee’s report before launching a full probe into the incident. While West Ham will be in the process of choosing the correct course of action to take as a club in dealing with the matter.
