One question which I am sure most Tottenham fans want answering is, who will be their much needed striker when Daniel Levy and Andre Villas-Boas end their torment and provide them with one? It was an inherent problem which plagued the club in the Christmas period of last season, and with injuries and international tournaments meaning Spurs had no recognised striker, it acted as a catalyst in the demise of their Champions League aspirations.
So there has been wide speculation that Tottenham are on the verge of signing fellow Premier League team Aston Villa’s Belgian maestro Christian Benteke. However, with a rumoured £25,000,000 price tag, it is yet unknown whether Levy will be willing to shell out that amount on the forward. He did indeed score plenty of goals last season, 23 to be precise. This does not avoid the fact that the Spurs chairman is not known for spending big, and having already forked out £17million on Brazilian Paulinho it is still questionable as to whether that deal will be finalised.
In light of this fact, it is still a certainty that the Spurs boss will try and bring in a striker. If the club want Champions League football then a man to join Defoe and Adebayor is a necessity.
So who are Tottenham able to bring in?
