Capoue’s arrival from Toulouse last summer was one that passed a lot of people by, especially given that the fee involved was below the £10m mark. The Frenchman is an immensely talented defensive midfielder and someone with the engine room to effectively shield the back four; but did he really stand a chance when faced with Sandro as competition? The other problem has been the rise of Nabil Bentaleb under Sherwood, something that has pushed Capoue to becoming a peripheral figure at the club. With the player becoming increasingly frustrated at Spurs, there really is only one outcome here.
