Daniel Levy has stayed true to his word, backing Andre Villas-Boas more than adequately this summer. Tottenham have been hugely impressive this summer, landing one of the leading strikers from Spain and a Brazilian international who could have landed at a club on the continent with a higher standing. It’s the appropriate reward for changing the playing mentality of the squad, helping to further Gareth Bale’s development and remaining loyal following interest from France.
Tottenham are a much stronger force in English football than they were five or six seasons ago. There is a competitive nature about that team now that sees them rightly up among the leading names in the Premier League. Sure, others have either regressed or stagnated, but Tottenham have made up the ground when the chance was there.
Spurs were incredibly unlucky not to finish fourth last season, but with everything considered thus far ahead of the new campaign, there are plenty of positives that can be expected from Tottenham this season.
