Possibly the most qualified candidate on this list, Spurs are very interested in the availability of Real Madrid midfielder-come-defender Fabio Coentrao.
The 25 year old can claim two league titles and five trophy wins throughout his career, in addition to 36 caps for the Portugal national team.
Coentrao moved to the Bernabeu two years ago, and despite his versatility – being capable of playing along the left flank and in defensive midfield – has found first team opportunities hard to come by, often being overshadowed by Brazil international Marcelo.
The Portuguese has always performed well when called upon however, and this season produced consistent displays in La Liga as well as on the European stage.
Coentrao has told his native press that he is keen for a summer move, having never felt truly wanted in Madrid.
The tabloids are quoting a figure of £15million to secure the full-back’s services, however others have speculated he will be used as part of a deal to move Gareth Bale in the opposite direction.
