The Brazilian keeper, who was signed from PSV Eindhoven, has struggled to make a good impression in the Premier League. Tottenham gave Gomes plenty of chances, but in truth, he is a bit of a liability.
After Tottenham signed Brad Friedel from Aston Villa, Gomes was seen as Spurs’ number two keeper. Shortly after, Gomes slipped further down the pecking order as Carlo Cudicini was seen as Friedel’s understudy.
With the signing of Hugo Lloris in the summer, Gomes is now surplus to requirements. He was sent out on loan during the January transfer window to German side Hoffenheim.
As for Pingping, he is the former world’s smallest man who was able to walk. He was just 2ft 5 inches tall, 74cm.
That being said, it appears that Gomes and Pingping share quite a resemblance to each other.
