Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they think Juan Foyth needs a loan move away from the club, after Jose Mourinho handed Japhet Tanganga his Premier League debut against Liverpool.
The Argentina international has now made as many Premier League starts as the 20-year-old academy prospect this season with one to his name, and the Spurs fans on Twitter think that Foyth should depart on loan.
The 22-year-old – who was signed from Estudiantes by Mauricio Pochettino in 2017 – wasn’t even named on the bench against Liverpool while Tanganga played the full 90 minutes, and he has only made three starts in total this season having made two in the Champions League and one in the Premier League.
Foyth – who cost the north Londoners a reported £8m – now appears to have been usurped in the pecking order by Tanganga, who impressed these supporters on his first Premier League start and against the European and World champions, no less.
As a result, these supporters think some game time away from the club would do him some good…
Foyth reminds me of John Stones. Lovely footballer, costs you a goal most games. I was a big fan but I’ve got a bad feeling about him now. Needs a loan that gets him game time

This supporter named Tom kicked off the discussion by saying that Foyth is a “lovely footballer” although he has “a bad feeling about him now” – this came before him saying that the Argentine needs a loan that will get him game time.
Was chatting to my boys after yday’s game re Tanganga and Foyth. Japhet came in and looked more assured than Foyth despite Foyth being better on the ball.
I like Foyth but he’s a magnet for mistakes 😞 needs a loan for sure. Not gonna give up on him yet but Japhet must play more

Additionally, this supporter said that Tanganga looked more assured than Foyth, before calling the Pochettino signing a “magnet for mistakes” and someone who “needs a loan for sure”.
Now that Tanganga is making the squad ahead of Foyth, he really needs a loan.

Foyth is class. He just needs a loan out to get more playing time, so he can get rid of his errors.
— Vertonghen’s Son (@Sontonghenv2) January 11, 2020
The calls for Foyth to be loaned out continued with this pair of supporters, with one saying that, now Tanganga is getting ahead of the former Estudiantes man, a loan move should really be in the offing.
Another fan – whose username is Vertonghen’s Son – said that Foyth needs a loan move so “he can get rid of his errors”.
Might be harsh on foyth after tanganga display tonight. Foyth should really seek a loan moce for more competitive minutes or just try to impress Jose as Rb.
Dunno if jose also think that foyth is rb like poch and scaloni

Delighted for Tanganga but equally concerned for Foyth. Hopefully he hasn’t soured his relationship with JM. A loan would do him wonders
— SHARKY (@Belgian_Hotspur) January 11, 2020
Lastly, these two fans echoed those aforementioned claims by also adding that Foyth should depart on loan – Suryo offered an alternative to a loan as well by suggesting that maybe the centre-back could impress Mourinho at right-back.
The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 – how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?
Lastly, ‘SHARKY’ said that a loan would “do him wonders” before adding that he hopes Foyth hasn’t soured his relationship with Mourinho.
In other news, Mourinho made a huge statement with this decision before the game against Liverpool kicked off…
