Based on the phenomenal season he’s been having so far, you’d have thought that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane would be able to bury any chance presented to him with glee. The young England lad’s emergence from plucky first-team outsider to Spurs superstar has been as rapid as it has been incredible. And with 23 goals in all competitions so far this campaign, the calls for a Three Lions call-up cannot be ignored for much longer.
However, against city rivals West Ham on Sunday Kane showed that he is human after all, agonisingly poking this shot against the post early in the first half:
The miss was made all the worse by the fact that West Ham went on to take the lead soon after, leaving young Harry to rue his glorious opportunity to open the scoring.
But let’s not be too hard on the lad. He’s still had a remarkable season, and it won’t be long before the striker gets back to doing what he does best – scoring goals.
