Despite their failure to land a Champions League spot, Andre Villas-Boas is confident that Gareth Bale will remain at the club.
The list of clubs linked with Bale is like a who’s who of European football with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and both Manchester outfits all linked with the 23-year-old, who won every leading player accolade in the country this term.
He was on hand to net his 26th goal of the season to give Spurs a 1-0 win over Sunderland on Sunday, but it was not enough to earn a place in Europe’s premier club competition as Arsenal won at Newcastle.
When asked whether Bale would still be at Spurs next term, Villas-Boas said: “Yes, that’s the information we have.
“It is very, very difficult to lure a player of this dimension away. You have to hold onto your best assets.”
