We all know about how much potential Paul Gascoigne had as a player back in the day.
And we all know how much of a character he was both on and off the pitch, with plenty of memorable moments throughout his playing career.
But it’s the secret behind his short stay in Italy with Lazio that has to be one of the funniest. Lazio paid Tottenham £5.5m for the England international in 1992 and he became an instant hit with the fans.
But it was Lazio’s owner who he didn’t off on the right foot with. Apparently, according to his Wikipedia page, Gascoigne greeted him by saying: “Tua figlia, grande tette.”
Anyone that knows their Italian or can use Google translate will know the phrase roughly translates to: “Your daughter, big tits.”
