How Tottenham must line up when they face Bournemouth on Sunday
Tottenham Hotspur will look to bounce back from their disappointing midweek Champions League exit when they face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Spurs looked to be on course to see off Juventus when the in-form Son Heung-Min gave them a first-half lead, but two goals in the space of three second-half minutes for the Serie A giants saw them lose 2-1 on the night, and 4-3 on aggregate, to exit the competition.
The focus for the north London outfit over the course of the rest of the season must now be to secure a top-four finish in the top flight in order to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition again – starting on the south coast this weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men further cemented their spot in the Champions League qualification spots when they beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 at Wembley last weekend – with Son once again scoring both of their goals – which has left them five points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea with nine matches of the season remaining.
The Argentine boss will know that they can’t afford to slip up between now and the end of the campaign with their London neighbours likely to be breathing down their necks if they do, and he will certainly take some solace from the fact that his side have won half of their 14 Premier League matches on the road this term.
The 46-year-old only made one enforced change from the side that beat Huddersfield for the match against Juventus on Wednesday night as Serge Aurier was suspended, but he will be considering freshening things up against the Cherries.
