How Tottenham must line up when they host Leicester on Sunday
Tottenham Hotspur will look to sign off at their temporary Wembley home with a win when they host Leicester City on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday.
Spurs have spent a relatively successful year at England’s national stadium while their new ground has been built, and this will be their final game there before they play in their venue from the start of the 2018/19 campaign.
The north London outfit guaranteed that they will once again be playing Champions League football next term as their 1-0 win at home to Newcastle United – coupled with Chelsea only managing to draw 1-1 with Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge – on Wednesday night saw them secure a top-four spot, and they will know that three points against the Foxes will see them finish in third, too.
Harry Kane netted the winner against the Magpies in a match where Mauricio Pochettino’s men weren’t at their best, and they will hope to maintain their fine form at home – they have taken 40 points from 54 available at Wembley – when they host Claude Puel’s side.
Pochettino switched formation and made three changes to the side that was disappointingly beaten 1-0 by West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns last weekend for the visit of the Tyneside outfit, as Ben Davies, Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-Min came in for Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela.
The 46-year-old may well be considering making some more alterations on Sunday though, in order to give some of his fringe players an opportunity to impress now they have qualified for the Europe’s elite club competition.
