How Tottenham must line up when they host Watford on Monday
Tottenham Hotspur will look to recover from their FA Cup disappointment and strengthen their grip on their top-four spot in the Premier League when they host Watford at Wembley on Monday night.
Spurs knew they had the opportunity to end a decade drought without a trophy when they faced Manchester United in the semi-final of the famous competition last weekend, but despite Dele Alli giving them an early lead they were eventually beaten 2-1 by Jose Mourinho’s men.
Attention now turns back to the top flight and the north London outfit will be determined to ensure that they now qualify for the Champions League next season, in order for them to give themselves a chance of enjoying more famous European nights at their new stadium.
Mauricio Pochettino will know how important it is that they don’t let their advantage over fifth-placed Chelsea slip in the remaining four fixtures, and he will certainly fancy his side’s chances of overturning the Hornets.
Javi Gracia’s men are in mid-table despite losing 17 of their 35 matches and conceding 60 goals in the process, and they have lost four successive Premier League matches on the road without finding the net.
Pochettino made six changes to the XI that drew 1-1 with Brighton and Hove Albion previously for the clash against the Red Devils, and he may well be considering making some more alterations in order to keep things fresh.
