Imagine a world where scientists have mastered the art of cloning, and imagine a Premier League where every club uses that technology to make an entire starting XI from just one of their players. That’s the hypothetical fantasy world which has captured our imaginations at Football FanCast.
Our query is a simple one, but with some very complicated schools of thought behind it; if your Premier League club had to choose just one player, cloned ten times, to create their whole starting XI from, who should they pick?
At Tottenham, for example, eleven Harry Kanes would be an unstoppable goalscoring force, but can they do enough to hold out the opposition at the other end? Maybe someone more defensive would be a better fit – someone like Jan Vertonghen who, in addition to being a fantastic centre-half, is pretty handy on the ball as well.
Then there’s those who are somewhere in between and offer a well-balanced all round game – the likes of Mousa Dembele, Serge Aurier and the incredibly versatile Eric Dier.
So, Tottenham fans, which Spurs star would you make an entire starting XI from? Let us know by voting below…
