HYS: Should Spurs hijack West Ham target Felipe Anderson?

Tottenham are on the hunt for another attacker to bolster their ranks this summer, so should they hijack West Ham’s bid for Felipe Anderson?

A report from the Express claims West Ham, Southampton and Leicester are all eyeing moves for Lazio’s Brazilian winger, with West Ham believed to be the only team to have submitted an official bid.

Lazio are reportedly playing hardball over the winger’s fee, after they failed to secure Champions League qualification on the final day of the season.

The 25 year-old only played 21 Serie A games last season due to injuries, but still managed three goals and seven assists, despite over half of those appearances coming as a substitute.

He grabbed an impressive three goals and three assists in seven Europa League appearances, and his ability to play on the wing or behind the striker would be a great asset for Spurs to have as they look to fight on four fronts.

Averaging an incredible 3.7 dribbles and 1.9 key passes per game across all competitions, Anderson would be the perfect upgrade on Erik Lamela, who many suspect may leave North London after a season where he started just seven Premier League games.

Lazio are thought to want in the region of £43m, but if the player was drawn to the idea of playing Champions League football under Mauricio Pochettino, then he could probably force that price down a bit.

So, Tottenham fans, would you back a summer swoop for the West Ham target? Or should you be aiming higher? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
